Mason Clinic
Aspec delivered the construction of E Tū Tānēkaha at the Mason Clinic, a secure Regional Forensic Psychiatric Services facility located in Point Chevalier. The project was completed over approximately 18 months for Waitematā District Health Board, supporting one of the fastest-growing populations in the country.
The facility required a highly specialised anti-ligature environment, involving complex and detailed design coordination and careful implementation throughout. The scope included 15 patient bedrooms with ensuites, corridors, courtyards, dining areas, medical rooms, de-escalation spaces and communal lounges, all delivered with a strong focus on safety, durability, and functionality within a secure clinical setting.
The building was officially opened by the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Jacinda Ardern, on Friday 9 April 2021.
